Mandala Art Session

Español

My Mandala Art provides a glimpse into who we really are, what our life story truly is, and what our soul hungers to become.

As a visual artist with a healing-intuitive gift, I offer heart-centred interactions using my artistic skills to create a mandala from my Soul's response. By exploring the mandala together, we find an entry point to a more genuine life, as our story, soul, and life's meaning unfolds.

How many of your conversations in a day are real?

My mandala art time with Betty reminded me of what authentic words are about. She felt into her experience of me and fashioned an image from that experience which reflected who I am and what I value. You might call it mirroring from inside the heart. Discussing the image she drew and painted, based on her interior impressions of me, grounded us in a rich dialogue about where my life is at the moment and where it is going. The soul is nourished by a slice of real in a time of thin, multitasking mania. Betty is a honest, solid, insightful, and inspiring original. Thank you, Betty.

The feeling of others when you do a Mandala for them? I have some experience there. It’s a precious feeling of being seen, of feeling free to be seen, of there being no shame at being seen. It’s like a layer of defenses just evaporates and everything that is inside no longer wants to hide. Rather to be visible, vulnerable, letting all thoughts, feelings, emotions, hopes, dreams, weaknesses, strengths, be visible to your third eye. It feels so freeing, a kind of spiritual disrobing.

In Jungian psychology the mandala is a symbol of the Self. So the mandala is always kind of giving you a map of where you're at. You can draw your mandala or if you are particularly insightful person, you can draw a mandala for someone else, which is what Betty does. There's an oracular quality to her work which I found really cool and we had a long conversation about the picture afterwards and she had incredible insights into my psyche... I felt that I was in good hands so I was totally safe but it was pretty uncanny at times what she was coming out with. It was almost like getting a reading from a really talented fortune teller.

Her approach was to think of someone in particular, known or unknown, while her drawing began to take shape freely on the paper ... a kind of intuitive reading that she did on the person

No, we don't need to meet. All I need is your name (or the name of the recipient) to begin the creation. In fact, I prefer to know as little as possible so the process remains purely intuitive.

Yes, as long as we can communicate in either Spanish or English, as I am fluent in both.

Each session lasts approximately one hour, with a maximum of ninety minutes.

Through a process that combines meditation, imagery, and words, I draw and write what I perceive during the three hours it takes to create your mandala. Feelings, sensations, and intuitions are constantly at play, bringing to light what can support your personal development and growth in the present moment. By bridging the conscious and unconscious, I create a mandala that reflects the totality of who you are from a perspective deeper than the ego.

Yes. You will take your mandala home with you to continue working and meditating on it as often as you wish, along with the notes taken during the creation process.

In the Mandala Art Session, we use the mandala as an entry point to the inner world—the unconscious—gaining insight into the landscapes within. Learning to establish a dialogue with the soul while exploring our internal patterns and dynamics helps us become more aware of who we are as individuals and the role we play in the world. As our story unfolds, the mandala helps us gather the many aspects of ourselves. By exploring the symbolic language of the soul and cultivating our creativity, we become aware of the instincts, emotions, and feelings essential for psychological and spiritual growth. In my experience, the development of the soul is part of our human heritage, our responsibility to the world, and the next step in the evolution of consciousness.

Over twenty years ago, while undergoing analysis in Venezuela with a remarkable Jungian analyst, I was introduced to mandalas, active imagination, and dream work. Mandalas manifested spontaneously as I was given the space to express my creativity and connect with my inner world. This healing process helped me recognize and embrace my natural gift while introducing me to the legacy of Carl Jung’s work. That was the beginning of my lifelong commitment to the soul, my psychological and spiritual development, and the study of classic Jungian psychology.
